Manipur violence: Affidavit execution centres opened

Imphal, November 28 2023: Thoubal deputy commissioner Ahanthem Subhash Singh has said that the district administration has been providing typing facilities at six execution centres to facilitate filing of affidavits by the public free of cost pertaining to the Commission of Inquiry appointed by the central government to conduct an inquiry into various aspects of violence in Manipur that took place on and after May 3 .

The deputy commissioner said that public can file affidavit with assistance of the affidavit executive centres at Kodompokpi Sports Complex, Rice Research Centre, Khangabok-Wangbal and Lamding Higher Secondary School relief camps.

The District Administration is also facilitating the filing of affidavits at District Headquarters Office, Thoubal Sub-divisional Office and Lilong Sub-divisionalOffice.

In another notification, Imphal East district magistrate Khumanthem Daina Devi informed that to enable people, furnish statement/complaint/allegation in the form of affidavit, the DA has set up 12 affidavit execution centres across the district.

The centres are the office of Imphal East district deputy commissioner at Porompat, offices of SDO and SDC, Sawombung, temporary shelter homes at Sajiwa jail complex and BDO Sawombung complex, office of SDO, Porompat at DIC complex Porompat, Ideal Girls College at Akampat, Heingang Kangjeibung Makha community hall at, SDO office at DIC office complex Porompat, SDO, Keirao Bitra office at Porompat DC office complex, OBC Girls Hostel at Urup and Yambem High School Boarding at Yambem Bazar.

Similarly, Ukhrul district magistrate Kengoo Zuringla has announced opening of affidavit execution centres in the district at office of the Deputy Commissioner located at Mini-Secretariat, Ukhrul, Office of the Sub-Divisional Officer, Ukhrul at North Block, Mini-Secretariat, Ukhrul, Litan Police Station at Litan Sareikhong and Camp Office of the Sub-Divisional Officer, Lungchong Meiphai located at North Block, Mini-Secretariat, Ukhrul.

The Procedure order and the public Notice are available online on the websites www.manipur.gov.in, www.dipr.mn.gov.in, https://ukhrul.nic.in .

The Affidavit execution centres mentioned above shall remain open between 10 am to 2 pm pn all working days.

The DM informed that District Nodal Officer may be contacted on 8731018101 in case of queries.

It may be mentioned that the Commission of Inquiry (Manipur Violence), 2023 had issued a public notice on November 20 inviting people acquainted with the subject matter to furnish their statements, allegations or complaints by way of affidavits within 45 days from the date of the notification.
