Stage ready for Mega Marathon

Imphal, February 14, 2013:
All the procedures for conducting the much-awaited 8th edition of Mega Marathon Manipur have been completed.
The Marathon is to be organised by United People's Front (UPF) on 16th February, 2014 with an aim to bring about a healthy nation and produce successful sports persons.
More than 1500 athletes including 9 from Nagaland and 2 others from West Bengal are expected to participate in the race.
Addressing a press meet at its office here today, the president of UPF B.M.Yaima Shah said that all the arrangements for successful conduct of the 8th Mega Marathon Manipur have been completed.
He informed that the mega marathon is to be organized under the guidance of Manipur Athletic Association and under the theme of "Run for Your Nation".
UPF has been organizing the mega marathon for the last 7 consecutive years without any interruption since 2007.This year too, the front is all set for organising marathon for a strong and united nation.
Informing that front has been facing many difficulties in organising the race, the UPF President extended gratitude to all those who helped the front mentally, physically as well as financially.
Sarangthem Manaobi Khoiranthaba (IPS) would flag-off the race to be participated by 1200 men and 300 women athletes.
