Imphal, February 14, 2013:
Despite CAF&PD Minister Moirangthem Okendro's assurance for normal supply of petroleum oil to the public from today, most oil pumps were closed today raising apprehension among the public for another oil scarcity in the State prior to the beginning of the economic blockade.
Moreover, the Minister had said that there is enough stock of petrol and diesel for about 13 days.
But only three oil pumps in Imphal area namely PCTC, Khoyathong, Tiddim Oil Station, Sega Road and another one at Chingmeirong Khongnang Karak supplied petroleum oil to the public today, while the other pumps remain closed.
Tiddim Oil Station only supplied diesel stating that there was no stock of petrol.
On the other hand, PCTC began supplying oil only after 1 pm, but interrupted in between due to some problem in the oil nozzles.
Taking due advantage of the closure of oil pumps, petrol was sold for upto Rs.
