2nd H Biro & H Brojen Memorial State Level U-15 Football Tournament 2018 begins

Imphal, January 10 2018:
The 2nd H Biro & H Brojen Memorial State Level U-15 Football Tournament 2018 organised by AMOFA Academy, Moirang kicked off at Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School ground in the presence of M Bashanta Singh, vice chairperson, Moirang Municipal Council as chief guest.
Councilors of Moirang Municipal Council, officials of AMOFA Moirang and family members of late H Biro and Brojen who are sponsoring the tournament also attended the inaugural function as guests.
A total of 12 teams divided into four groups will feature in this league cum knock out tournament.
In the opening match of the tournament, TYDA, Toubul came from behind to edge past TFA, Kangsoibi Khongbal 2-1 .
TFA started the match on a bright note and registered the first goal of the match early in the 3rd minute through Huirem Naotomba.
Stung by the goal, TYDA launched their offensive raids which were held by TFA for a while.
Their consistent efforts paid them an equailiser in the 24th minute.
Ningthoujam Abungton who was lurking around the edge of the box danced past few defender and cracked a power packed shot and levelled the score at 1-1 till the end of first half.
The second half saw both teams trying hard to capitalise over one another using all resources they had.
TYDA under fortuitous circumstances got the separation via a clinical shot struck by Robertson in the 56th minute of the match.
The one goal lead did not satisfied TYDA and thus continued to press their rivals but failed to add more goals.
On the other hand, TFAwere also trying hard to return into the game with some fine runs but could not bring much of a change as well orchestrated defence line of TYDA did a commendable job in thwarting all possible threats.
Eventually, the game ended 2-1 in favour of TYDA.
O Manoranjan of TFA, Sh Sagar and goalkeeper, Th Kabichandra of TYDA were yellow carded for unsporting behaviour.
TBSFA, Toubungkhok will take on MPIIYA, Moirang in a Group C league match tomorrow at 1 pm while AMOFA Academy (B) will face AKSA, Kwakta in a Group D league match at 2.30 pm.
