Conservation of Sangai

Bishnupur, January 10 2018:
With an aim to sensitise the police personnel about the endangered animal of the State, Sangai or the brow antlered deer, a one day sensitisation programme on protection of Sangai was held at 1st IB guest house, Keibul Lamjao National park.
Organised by Wildlife Institute of India along with Manipur Forest Department, the awareness programme was attended by 30 police personnel from Keibul Lamjao police station.
ACF Park and Sanctuary, Nirmala Chanu, DSP P Shankar Singh, OC, Keibul Lamjao police station W Ibomcha Singh attended the programme as dignitaries.
A lecture on 'Biodiversity panorama and conservation of Sangai, Rescue and rehabilitation of wild animals and conservation of Sangai: Managers's perspective' was collectively delivered by resource persons namely Institute of India Project Scientist Dr Chongpi Tuboi, Dr M Vikramjit Sharma and Nirmala Chanu.
