Kangpokpi denizens bid farewell to first DC, welcome successor

After thirteen months of immense effort and struggles for a speedy development of the newly created Kangpokpi District, the denizens of Kangpokpi district bid farewell to its first Deputy Commissioner today and received its second Deputy Commissioner with heartfelt salutation.
In a historic event, T Ranjit Singh who is more popularly known as the 'Man of work' took charge as the first Deputy Commissioner of Kangpokpi amidst public exuberance over the attainment of districthood after more than 4 decades.
T Ranjit Singh proved that he is a 'Man of work' by taking only three days casual leaves during his thirteen months term in the office of DC Kangpokpi as the Deputy Commissioner.

His concern for the public and enthusiasm in his administration were widely appreciated by the people of Kangpokpi which make them hard to bid farewell today.
A simple farewell function and reception of the new DC, Pradeep Chandren (IAS) was organized at the conference hall of the DC Office by staff and employees of DC Kangpokpi in which all District Level Officers, locals and staff of DC Kangpokpi attended.
"Streamlining the Arms Licence is my greatest gift to the people of Kangpokpi" said the outgoing DC who will take charge as Secretary, Revenue Department while appreciating the people of Kangpokpi and CSOs for their cooperation and support towards the district administration, during his tenure as DC Kangpokpi.
He also appreciated the cooperation and support rendered by the District Level Officers in the administration and appealed everyone to render the same to the new Deputy Commissioner so as to witness a speedy development of Kangpokpi District.
He pointed out that he has already sent all the required proposals to the Government and expressed his hope that the proposals will be shortly implement by the State Government for the welfare of the District.
The public expressed disappointed over the alleged step-motherly treatment of Kangpokpi District in terms of fund release and conveyed gratitude to the outgoing DC for his commitment and sincerity towards his duty despite such shortage of funds.
"Had the Government avoided such step-motherly treatment in terms of fund release to the newly created District, the outgoing DC could have done much more for the District" asserted the CSOs of Kangpokpi and further urged the Government to stop its negligence towards the district in the future.
The 2012 IAS batch, Pradeep Chandren, IAS, who works as SDO in various districts including Churachandpur, Chandel and also took charge as DC in Ukhrul took charge as the DC in Kangpokpi today.
The 31 years old IAS officer said, "The biggest challenge for me would be to make the administration of Kangpokpi District more efficient and improved but I am looking forward to the cooperation and support of the people and the District Level Officers" .
