MPA, PCC stroll in MNCA U-16 boys cricket

Imphal, February 09 2022:
MPA (Thounaojam) notched up an emphatic 113-run victory over TRAU (Kwakeithel) while PCC (Mayai Koibi) inflicted a crushing 10 wicket defeat on KCDO (Kongpal) in Wednesday's matches of the 3rd MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy.
In the match between MPA and TRAU, the former were put in to bat and they set a target of 174 for the latter.
MPA's innings was led Lucky Elangbam who hit a 50 off 49 balls, with contributions from Thounaojam Suhan (31), Lanchenba Thounaojam (24) and Elangbam Rohit (14).The Thounaojam side lost seven wickets in the process.
In reply, TRAU could only muster 60 after being bundled out in 25.3 overs.
Chingtham Albish impressed with a haul of three wickets as Elangbam Rohit and Elangbam- Sanatomba claimed two scalps each, with Soram Naoboy and Soram Dayananda chipping in with a wicket apiece to propel their team to a comprehensive win at ABA Ground, Kshetrigao.
Earlier, Yendrembam Nharatngamba, Mutum Swabhiman and Indrakumar Sanjenbam took two wickets each for TRAU.
At Heinoupok, Takhelmayum Vikash destroyed KCDO's batting lineup to help PCC stroll to a 10-wicket triumph.
Vikash wreaked havoc on KCDO's batting order as his 5.1-over spell earned him seven wickets.
KCDO chose to bat and could manage 29/8 in 16.1 overs.
Laitonjam Anjan added a wicket for PCC.
Chasing a meagre total, PCC needed 2.3 overs to knock off the runs, with Vikash (20 not out) and Max Warokpam (4 not out) taking care of the task with ease.
