CC Meet: YPHU, GSYC win as SYMROPIA, F4C play out 1-1 draw

YPHU (Lalambung) and GSYC (Lonpi) emerged the victors in contrasting styles as SYMROPIA FC (Churachandpur) and F4C (Saikul) shared the spoils in the 63rd CC Meet on Wednesday.
GSYC started the day with a hard-fought 1-0 success against MCK (Bishnupur).
Both sides were unable to turn their possession to their advantage for the major part of the game.
And with just 10 minutes left, the Lonpi side finally stamped their authority when Seikholet worked his way through the opposition's defence to bury the ball in the back of the net.
GSYC then clung on to their 10 lead and sealed the victory.
YPHU, meanwhile, fought back from an early deficit in the first half to dominate FC Lamjao 5-2.FC Lamjao started with a bang as they needed just six minutes from kickoff to move ahead with Th Yaifaba on target.
After their early opener, Lamjao, however, failed to improve but they managed to keep YPHU off the scoreboard through the first-half contest.
After the break, YPHU showed their intent with a flurry of attacks that put the opposition's defence in disarray for the Lalambung side to score at will.
O Rohit kick-started the YPHU's second- half on slaught with a 51st-minute leveller before N Amarjit made it 2-1 three minutes later.
Then Rohit was at it again in the 66th minute to further extend their lead as Amarjit followed suit, scoring his second and team's fourth goal in the 74th minute before FC Lamjao found their second goal in the 78th minute through Y Umakanta.
W Sadananda rounded off YPHU's scoring in the 87th minute and that strike closed out the contest.
Meanwhile, SYMROPIA and F4C settled for a 1-1 draw.
Paokhongam put the Chu-racahndpur team ahead just two minutes into regulation but F4C responded in the 13th minute courtesy of a strike by Ngulgoulal and the two sides ended up sharing the spoils.
