All Lamkang Sports Meet Football : Angkhel Chayang maul Sektai Karong 5-0 to book semi-final berth

Imphal, May 23 2022: Angkhel Chayang rode on a treble by DB Renghon to crush Sektai Karong 5-0 and enter semi-final of the 56th All Lamkang Sports Meet-2022 organised by Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun (LKK) at Angkhel Chayang playground.

Cheered by the home fans, Angkhel Chayang had a solid start and took a comprehensive 4-0 first half lead before sealing the game 5-0 .

DB Renghon netted the opener as early as the third minute before SK Bunghong doubled the lead in the 24th minute.

Struggling Sektai Karong slipped further behind as SK Khumhring fumbled to net into his own in the 27th minute and the next minute saw Renghon completing his double to make it 4-0 .

Angkhel Chayang took their feet off the pedal after the break until DB Renghon was on the target yet again to complete his treble in the 78th minute and handed his team an emphatic quarter final win.

In the second quarter-final match, K Clington brace inspired Thamlapokpi a 2-1 win over Laiktla.

The two sides were evenly poised till the break as K Clington equalised in the 20th minute after SK Khalwar handed Laiktla the lead in the 10th minute of the match.

K Clington then scored the winner in the 50th minute to make sure his team secured a place in the semi-final.

In the third quarter final match of the tournament, P Ralrinkhu edged out Khuibung 5-2 thanks to a treble by Bungring.

LV Anand drew first blood in the 11th minute to hand Khuibung the lead but Bungring pulled level in the 14th minute to keep the competition open.

After the break, Darngam overturned the lead in the 47th minute but LV Anand came to the rescue and scored the equaliser for Khuibung in the 52nd minute.

P Ralrinkhu however resurged stronger and it was Bungring who banged in two goals back to back in the 55th and the 62nd minute to make it 4-2 before Wangtong struck in the 72nd minute to wrap up the game 5-2 .
