Manjit-Dingku pair settle for bronze medal at Bahrain International Challenge

Imphal, November 27 2021:
Shuttlers, Manjit and Dingku from Manipur scripted history as they won an international bronze medal after reaching men's doubles semi-finals at the Bahrain International Challenge held at Manama Bahrain.
The pair defeated Bokka Navaneeth and Srikrishna Sai Kumar Podile in a all-Indian first round encounter before beating Indonesian pair of Muh Putra Erwiansyah and Patra Harapan Rindorindo 21-14, 21-12 in the second round to book the semi-final berth.

They however went down 15-21, 10-21 to Raymond Indra and Daniel Edgar Marvino of Indonesia to finish their campaign with a bronze medal.
It is the best by a doubles pair from Manipur in an international tournament, said Manipur Badminton Association general secretary in a statement.
The association also wished the pair more success in the future.
