N Rajningthou Memorial Trophy : Rahis Khan picks four as KASC hammer TRAU by 8 wickets

Imphal, January 17 2022: KASC, Khomidok secured a comprehensive 8 wicket win over TRAU, Kwakeithel in a Group A league match of the ongoing 3rd MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy at YCWO ground Heinoupok today.

KASC, who won the toss, chose to field first and skittled TRAU for 42 runs in 19 overs courtesy a four wicket haul by Rahis Khan (4/8 in 6 overs) and two wicket hauls by Afsar (2/5 in 4 overs) and Mustaque (2/5 in 5 overs) .

None of TRAU batters was able to secure a double digit run in this innings and five of them went out for ducks.

Nawaz (25 not out) and Rahis Khan (7 not out) then drove KASC to 45 for 2 within 6 overs for the 8 wicket win.

Rahis Khan, who shone with the ball was eventually named man of the match.

Elsewhere at ABA ground, Kshetrigao, TCMDC-Thongju earned a hard fought 3 wicket win over KCDO, Kongpal.

After electing to bat first, KCDO were bowled out for 88 runs for 9 in 14.3 overs as Vishonath (3/28) and L Valindra (4/15) of the Thongju team wreaked havoc across their batting line.

Booker K was the only batter that showed his batting ability for KCDO with a quickfire 43 off 28 balls as 6 batters went off with zero scores.

Riding on Rain's 29 and extras, TCMDC cruised to 90 for the win in 15.2 overs at the cost of 7 wickets even as Lucky of KCDO produced a record feat to fetch 6 wickets alone for 32 runs in 6 overs.

Moramba managed the other wicket in this innings.

Laishram Valindra who claimed four wickets of TCMDC was named man of the match.
