All India Junior Ranking Badminton : Meiraba Luwang wins U-19 boys title

Imphal, September 23 2018:
Maisnam Meiraba Luwang emerged U-19 boys champion at the All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament held at Chandigarh while pair of Manjit Khwairakpam and Dingku Konthoujam and Konjengbam Priya who paired with Preethi K of Andhra Pradesh finished runners up losing to their respective opponents.
Maisnam Meiraba got the better of Kiran George of Kerala, seeded 2 by 2-1 sets to clinch the U-19 boys title today.
Meiraba who started the game on the front-foot, lost the second set to force a decider before sealing a 23-21, 16-21, 21-14 win.
In the boy's doubles final.
Manjit Singh Khwairakpam and Dingku Singh Konthoujam conceded 14-21, 14-21 to Krishna Prasad G of AP and Dhruv Kapila of Air India to settle with runners up title.
In the girls doubles final, Priya Devi and Preethi went down 22-24, 13-21 in the hands of Aditti Bhatt of Uttarakhand and Tanisha Castro of Goa to finish runners up.
With the win, Meiraba can be considered selected for the World Junior Badminton Championships 2018 to be held in Canada while the three other players still stand high chances of getting selected in the Indian team.
