AJWJU observes l8th foundation day

The All Jiribam Working Journalists' Union (AJWJU), Jiribam - an independent body of journalists, Jiribam District - observed its 18th Foundation Day today atPWD Guesthouse, Jiribam.
The celebration was graced by Kh Janaki Devi, Adhayaksha Jiribam as chief guest while Ngathem Biswajit Singh President All Jiribam Working Journalists Union Jiribam as functional president while H Basulal Singh Addl Superintendent of Police Jiribam District, L Veerjit Singh Founder President All Jiribam Working Journalists Union, S Herajit Singh Publisher Manipur Chronicle Daily English Newspaper attended the function as guests of honour.
The welcome address of the function was delivered by Moirangthem Romeo Singh, Founder Secy AJWJU, followed by keynote address delivered by Atom Lukhoi Singh, General Secy AJWJU.
In his speech, Atom Lukhoi Singh has highlighted the pivotal roles of journalists and added that due to less numbers of media persons in Jiribam District, they faced many difficulties to provide media coverage in various places of Jiribam simultaneously.
He also sought co-operation from the people for smooth functioning of AJWJU.
From among the invitees, advocate K B Roy Advisor AJWJU, L Romen Singh Legal Advisor AJWJU, Maipaksana Mangang President All Jiribam United Clubs Association, W Dinesh Meitei General Secy Jiri Development Organisation (JDO), Methew Udin Kamei Ex-AJWJU member, Hemanta Mangang Advisor Jiri Development Organisation, Md Sirazul Haider Ex-AMSU General Secy shared their views about the central roles of Journalist in the society.
Speaking as guest of honour, S Herajit also emphasized on the important role played by Journalists to help develop a better society.
L Veerjit Singh, Founder President of AJWJU and protocol officer of BJP announced that two journalists of Jiribam will be awarded from the next year foundation day of AJWJU based on their performances in the field of "investigative journalism and women empowerment" .
