YWC, RCA romp in MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament

YWC overpowered SU by 207 runs while RCA enjoyed a six-wicket victory against SDC in their group matches in the MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament on Monday.
YWC shrugged off early batting jitters to post 306 after being dismissed in 27.3 overs.
After their openers Poreinganba Sapam (7) and Khoisnam Kelvinson (o) left the crease early, efforts by Seram Indraraj (48), Pukhrambam Bonison (39), Daniel Seram (37), Pukhrambam Michael (31), Prakash Kangjam (25), Seram Tondonsana (21), Yumnam Achouba (12) and Yumnam Brightson (10) propelled their side to a mammoth total.
YWC bowlers then made short work of SU batting lineup, wiping them out in 25.1 overs for 99.Daniel Seram led the attack racking up three wickets while Pukhrambam Boni-son, Khoisnam Kelvinson and Yumnam Achouba accounted for two scalps each to give their team a massive 207-run win.
Keisham Anderson (21), Romanta Sagolsem (16) and Wangthoi (12) were the only batters with double-digit scores in SU's run chase.
Earlier, Anderson picked up three wickets, Philan and Yaikhomba took two each, and Pradeep, Hemjit and Newton got one each for SU.
Daniel Seram (3 wickets & 37 runs) was adjudged the man of the match.
RCA, meanwhile, bowled out SDC for 189 in 24.2 overs and then they chased down the target in 24.3 overs to stroll to a six-wicket win.
A collective bowling effort by RCA saw Zoned take three scalps, Nawaz Sarif and Irfan claim two each, and Albas Khan and Farhan Ahmed bag one apiece.
For SDC, Napoleon (52) and Nitara Maverick (42) were the main performers in their innings.
In reply, Md Anush led RCA from the front with an unbeaten knock of 101 off 90 balls and helped his team complete the chase in 24.3 overs.
Zoned (26), Syed Sami (16) and Md Samir Khan (14) were other key contributors in their triumph.
During the chase, RCA lost three wickets to Manish Kumar Nepal and one to Maibam Napoleon.
Md Anush claimed the man of the match title for his unbeaten 101 .
