Imphal, April 17 2023:
The 64th edition of the Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament which is one of the oldest and prestigious tournaments in the Nation is all set to kick off from April 21 .
This was stated by the president of the All Manipur Football Association, M Ratankumar during a press meet held today at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.
The tournament which will be sponsored by Babina Group will be organised in a phased manner, informed M Ratankumar while adding that the prize money of this edition will be finalised during an executive council meeting slated for April 19.

The tournament will see two separate preliminary round (knock-out) competitions for four slots to the main draw, two from amongst 7 AMFA Cup teams and two from amongst 17 Winners Cup and district league champions.
The four teams will join 14 Manipur State League teams in the next round (knock-out format) for 8 next stage berths, he said.
The 8 teams will further join defending champions SU and invitational teams (numbers yet to be fixed) for the group league competition before the title clash, he said.
Which outside teams will be joining the tournament is yet to be decided.
Nevertheless the organiser is expecting four or five teams including the Indian Navy team who recently played a friendly match against Manipur (red), said M Ratankumar.
The tournament was supposed to be held earlier but it had to be deferred in the wake of All India Football Federation's instruction to include 5 or 6 teams from the "Federation Cup" and owing to the ongoing Super Cup, he said while expressing regret for the delay.
This edition was on the brink of scripting history for featuring a record 40 local teams but two teams had to withdraw due to incompletion of CMS and failing to meet required number of players in a team.
AMFA secretary, L Jyotirmoy Roy who was also attending the media event, sought public support to make the tournament popularly known as CC Meet, successful and grander.
Jyotirmoy also noted that the major portion of the tournament will be held at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong and the final match will be hosted at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
Ticket price and prize money will be made public in a very short notice, he said while urging all sections of the society to refrain from bandh, blockade and other forms of demonstration which would affect the smooth conduct of this prestigious marquee event.
