Online entrance exam for army begins

Keeping up with the pace of technology and fulfilling the spirit of Digital India, Indian Army is Conducting its first ever Online Common Entrance Exam across the nation starting from April 17, marking a major shift in the recruitment procedures of Indian Army, said a PRO Defence release.
According to the PRO, the Online Common Entrance Exam will be conducted at 375 Examination Centres in 176 locations all over India from April 17 to 26.In the North East Zone, the exam will be conducted at 26,centres namely Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh; Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar and Tezpur in Assam; Imphal, Ukhrul and Churachandpur in Manipur; Shillong in Meghalaya; Aizawl in Mizoram; Dimapur and Kohima in Nagaland; and Agartala in Tripura.
Informing that the recruitment will be carried out in three stages, the release elaborated that in the first stage, all candidates will undergo Online CEE, followed by notification to the shortlisted candidates for recruitment rallies at locations decided by respective Army Recruitment Office for Physical Fitness Test and Physical Measurement Test and medical test of the selected candidates.
The final merit list of the successful candidates will be declared on completion of the entire process, said the PRO, adding that with the technological threshold in the nation improving significantly and with enhanced digital awareness, the youth are now empowered to undertake online exams.
