Science awareness programme cum exhibition kicks off

A two-day Science awareness programme cum exhibition kicked off today at The Thaimei Guigangpou English School, Thaninkhun in Bishnupur district.
The programme is being conducted as a part of the children centric programme for strengthening science knowledge of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students organised by the Work Ignites Life's Lullaby (WILL) Association Manipur under the sponsorship of the Department of Science and Technology Division of NCSTC, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
Former Additional Director, Health & Family Welfare, Govt of Manipur Dr W Gulapi Singh; Founder of TG English School, Bishnupur Th Diren Singh and Deputy Inspector, Bishnupur RK Ranjit and Senior Professor Thambal Marik College L Gopal Singh graced the inaugural function as the presidium members.
Many models based on different scientific aspects were exhibited by the students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Bishnupur; Diligent Public School Moirang; TG English School Bishnupur and Modern English Higher Secondary School.
As a part of the programme, a drawing competition and an essay competion in open category was conducted.
Speaking in connection with the programme, Dr W Gulapi Singh expressed that conducting such programmes will help the students in understanding the multiple aspects and benefits of science better.
Highlighting the importance of science in day-to-day life, he maintained that it is essential to make cohesive efforts to help the young students to pursue science subjects by addressing their doubts and concerns.
In the technical session, resource persons spoke on different topics.
