AITA Super Series Tennis Tourney for U-14 boys and girls begins

The AITA-Super Series Tennis Tournament 2019 for U-14 Years Boys and Girls organised by Manipur Tennis Association kicked off today at Officers' Club tennis court, Lamphelpat.
The first day of the tournament saw many of the State girls and boys seal respective wins and move into the next round of the respective categories.
Senjam Ashwajit entered the second round of the boys' singles competition with a 6-3, 6-1 win against Antariksh Tamuly of Assam while Sagolshem Bhicky ousted Thongbam Rajivkumar 6-1,6-1 in a Manipur derby.
Wahengbam Gavin on the other hand eased to a 6-3, 6-1 win against Shukla Aditya of Telangana in another first round clash while Heishnam Shanker outlasted Aryan Borah 6-1, 6-3 of Assam to set up second round clash with Rohan Agarwal.
In other matches of the day, Rishi Vandha Sadeeshkumar of Tamil Nadu eased to the second round with a 6-0, 6-0 thrashing of Harshit Anugonda of Telangana; Assam's Harshad Borah registered a 6-1, 6-1 win against Almas Ebon Ahamed, Victor Mohanram of Haryaha thrashed Assam Prasurya Borah 6-2, 6-0; Mihir Parcha of Telangana trounced Dhandeep Mili 6-1, 6-0; Tamoghna Das of West Bengal eased to 6-3, 6-0 win against Assam's Bikramaditya Mahanta; Maharashtra's Ved Sampath Pawar outlasted Paras Lukram of Manipur 6-2, 6-0; Joshua John eased to 6-0, 6-1 against Telangana's Yagnesh Pampari and Bed Aditya Kalita of Assam overcame Manipur's Aheibam Loyalakpa 6-2, 6-2 .
Girls Singles Manipur's Lamabam Bidyarani became the first girl to reach last 8 round of the competition as she overpowered Assam's Ananya Borthakur 6-3, 6-0 in the first round before getting a walk-over.
Laishram Nandini Chanu reached the second round of the tournament with a 7-6(3), 6-3 win against Gurumayum Ananya Sharma while Thoibi Yumnam saw off Dhanapriya Deori 6-2, 6-1.Manipur's Meidingu Sanareima also eased to the girls singles second round with a comfortable 6-4, 6-1 win against Pooja.
In another matches, West Bengal's Agnimitra Bhattacharya overwhelmed Urshita Pathak 6-1, 6-0 to set up second round clash with Chandani Srinivasan while Telangana's Sreemanya Reddy Anugonda of Telangana cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win against Guruaribam Abha Sharma.
Meanwhile, Kumari Tania of Assam also reached the second round with a 6-4, 6-0 win against Jaishwal Sumeira of West Bengal.
