Imphal, April 29 2019:
After eight local clubs and Meira Paibi groups came out with an announcement to boycott MAHUD Minister Th Shyamkumar, three other local clubs of Andro AC have dismissed the boycott announcement.
Notably, MAHUD Minister Th Shyamkumar was elected from Andro AC.
Changamdabi Mohammadan Club (CMC), Changamdabi Idigah Club and Keipharok Youth Development Organisation have expressed strong disapproval of the boycott call.
Speaking to media persons today on behalf of the three clubs, CMC president Md Anish Shah said that a group of self-centred people driven by narrow political outlook has been attempting to project Th Shyamkumar in the wrong light.
This group of people has been misleading not only media and the people of Andro AC but the whole population of Manipur, Md Anish said.
Even though no executive member of the three clubs signed on boycott declaration, signatures which appeared to be forged and names of the three clubs are seen on documents circulated in social media, he said.
It only exposes the deceitful nature of the particular group of people, he claimed.
Saying that the particular group of people should come out with a clarification within three days, Md Anish said that legal action would be initiated if no clarification comes forth within the given deadline.
Meanwhile, the women wing of Development Organisation Andro Kendra (DOAK) too has dismissed the announcement of boycotting Th Shyamkumar.
DOAK women wing president Sukham Premita said that there is no organisation named Laimanai Women Society at Yairipok Laimanai but Laimanai Women Society is mentioned in the list of organisations which are allegedly boycotting Shyamkumar.
Investigation by the women wing revealed that signature of a Self Help Group member was collected deceitfully so as to claim that she too attended the meeting where the resolution to boycott Shyamkumar was adopted, Premita said.
Meanwhile, separate press releases issued Tulihal Edigah Youth Development Organisation, Tulihal Educated Association and Progressive Association Tulihal have clarified that they never boycotted Th Shyamkumar.
