Thunderstorm affects livelihood in Kpi; extensive damages reported in Moreh

Kpi/Tpl, April 29 2019:
The devastating thunderstorm which was experienced all over the State on Sunday also affected livelihood in various parts of Kangpokpi district.
As reported till today, as many as 56 houses, 4 schools and 1 Bank have been damaged.
Saikul sub-division was affected the most with 23 houses being destroyed, followed by Lhungtin with 21 houses, 9 houses in Kangchup Geljang and 3 houses in Saitu-Gamphazol sub-division.
A Punjab and Sind Bank in T Waichong which is still under construction and yet to function was also damaged.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi, Lalithambigai K (IAS), informed through a notification to contact officials of the District Administration and SDOs in case of any loss of lives, casualties and damage of properties and crops.
She also instructed the SDOs to inform the villagers to remain alert and stay away from water bodies.
She further mentioned that all unknown numbers will be entertained.
TENGNOUPAL: The storm that hit Moreh yesterday causes extensive damages to more than 64 houses across 5 villages, said Thangkhohao Haokip, village chief of K Zalenmoul village.
He urged the State Govt to extend all possible help to the victims.
The villages that were struck by the storm include H Mongjang (25 houses); L Phaimol (2 houses); New Mongjang (25 houses); TM Zoumunom (1 house); K Zalenmoul (11 houses) .
