With unblemished record in their respective group outings, hosts Manipur along with Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Orissa have advanced to the last eight round of the 18th Senior national women's Football championship currently underway here.
In their last group matches played today, Manipur thrashed Uttarakhand 20-0 in a Cluster I tie at Mapal Kangjeibung where Orissa also outclassed Karnataka 6-1 in cluster II, as Tamil Nadu crushed Meghalaya 11-0 in a cluster IV match at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium and west bengal cruised to a 4-0 victory over Maharashtra at the same venue.
The Manipur goals were scored by L Naobi Chanu (5), Th Tababi (5), N Geetarani (3), Sh Rani, L Asharani (2), I Premeswori (2), Y Kamala and S Ibeyaima.
Orissa's passage to the quarter finals was sealed by Supriya Routary, Sasmita Mallion (3), Shradhanjali Samantray and Pinki Bonpal Magar.
In Tamil nadu's win over the North eastern State, S Vasanthi and S Jeyaluxmi scored four each with R Kalpana netting three.
meanwhile, a brace from Kalpana Roy, and one each by Puja Kumari and Nausaba alam helped West Bengal to the comfortable victory against Maharashtra.
