Imphal, March 11, 2010:
Reacting sharply against the recent declaration of the KYKL to track down remaining members as well as supporters of the KYKL-MDF (Military Defence Force), the latter has pled-ged that it would initiate retaliatory action in case its cadres/members are targeted.
On the otherhand, a statement issued by the public relation officer Anand of the KYKL-MDF revealed that the KYKL vicious policy led to the surrender and subsequent of slaying of Uttam.
Substantiating the contention, Anand alleged that the KYKL paid Rs 50 lakh to the ZRO to eliminate Uttam which the latter objected but nevertheless colluded with Indian Army agents in handing over Uttam under the pretext of a surrender ceremony attended by the then 57 Mountain Division GOC Maj Gen Shakti Gurung.
Iterating that decision to part with the KYKL was compelled owing to leaders of the parent body more interested in amassing per- sonal wealth rather than pursue the movement for which it came into being, the public relation officer maintained that till date KYKL-MDF has no ill-will against any revolutionary group.
However, in case the KYKL target either the cadres or overground activists of the KYKL-MDF retaliatory action would be even more severe as not even activists of frontal organisations of the KYKL would be spared, he affirmed.
Condemning KYKL's alleged covert agenda and policy of eliminating anybody that pose threat to the outfit, anand construed that under this very agenda formation of KYKL-MDF is being steadfastly opposed by the former through image smearing propaganda through the media as the KYKL-MDF is also a potential threat that could expose nepotism and un-revolutionary agenda of the KYKL.
Calling upon other armed groups waging battle for the common cause to judge attitude and conduct of the KYKL, he cautioned that in case bloodshed among the indigenous people persist the indian army would be most glad but would also scheme even more killing.
Regarding the KYKL's proclamation against extending material or monetary assistance to the break-away group, Anand described the warning as another intimidatory tactic that had been associated with the KYKL since its inception.
Reiterating that helping the KYKL organisation tantamount to encouraging burglary of the Manipuri society, Anand also cautioned all concerned not to test its tolerance limit by not honour humble proposal of the KYKL-MDF.
He also called upon the people to support and extend cooperation to the KYKL-MDF in its effort to cleanse the society of decoy revolutionary groups so as to further the ongoing movement.
