A fire which broke out in the board daylight Thursday has burnt down three shops dealing different items at the Leimakhong Market near the headquarters of the 57 Mountain Division, Leimakhong in Imphal west district.
Properties worth above Rs 3 lakh belonging to three shops, one dealing with cloth item, another with hardware and third one with mobile handsets and computers reduced to ashes in the fire break out incident, preliminary report from police said.
The fire burnt down the entire contents of the affected shops.
The fire broke out at about 11 am.
Police suspected electric short-circuits resulted the tragedy.
Fire fighters of Imphal Fire Service assisted by the Army personnel from the leimakhong Army camp put the fire under control after around half an hour before the top floor use as dwelling house was razed through by the fire.
The two-storey building which the ground floors used as shops belongs to one Raju Krishna.
The hardware shops belongs to Naoroibam Salish while mobile and computer dealing shop to one Nishikanta, a resident of Assam state and the cloth shop belongs to one Kalu from Rajasthan.
Properties estimated to worth Rs 3 lakh belonging to the shops totally gutted in the fire burnt incident.
No human casualty reported in the incident.
