On the last day of the State Assembly today, Chief Minister tabled the annual report, 2009 of the State Vigilance Commission.
Interestingly, firebrand Opposition MLA O Joy of MPP had all praise for the report, maintaining that recommendations made for taking up necessary action against defaulted officials have shown that the Commission has been doing its work dutiful.
Joy said that it would have been better if the report had been tabled earlier.
He also expressed desire for the Vigilance Commission to enhance its function-ing more efficiently.
On the other hand, the Manipur Higher Secondary Education (Second Amendment) Bill, 2009 introduced by Education Minister L Jayantakumar had been unanimously passed by the House today.
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh had also introduced the Appro-priation Account and Finance Account for the period 2008-2009 on the last day of the House sitting today.
