27th NE Games begins today

The biggest sporting extravaganza of the North Eastern India, the 27th North East games 2013 (Men & Women) is all set to begin tomorrow at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, Imphal.
Departmen of Youth Affairs & Sports is hosting the NE Games under PYKKA.
The opening ceremony will be held at 3 pm tomorrow.
Chief Minister of Manipur, Okram Ibobi, PHED and Labour & Employment Minister I Hemochandra and Parliamentary Secretary of YAS & Tourism, M Prithviraj will graced the opening ceremony as Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honour respectively.
Around 1400 players from seven North East States� Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and host Manipur will be competing in Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Football, Hockey, Judo, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Weightliftingnand Wushu.
Judo and Badminton would be held at Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak, Weightlifting at SAI SAG, Table Tennis at Indoor Hall of National Sports Academy, Hockey at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium and Taekwondo at the newly constructed Indoor Stadium of National Sports Academy, Khuman Lampak.
This is the fifth time Manipur is hosting the NE Games.
Manipur had won Overall Team Champion's title 21 times and Overall Runner Up's title four times in the history of the Games.
Meanwhile, the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) has informed that all the football matches for women would be held at Artificial Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak while the matches for men's football which were drawn at Practice Ground, Khuman Lampak would be played at Mapal Kangjeibung instead.
In women's football, Manipur and Assam will play the first match at 7 am tomorrow at Artificial Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak.
Tripura and Mizoram will play the second match at 9 am.
While in men's football, Mizoram and Nagaland will play the first match at 7 am at Mapal Kangjeibung and Manipur will fight Assam in another match at ESU Ground, Wangkhei at 7 am.
