11th Manipur State League SU push TRUGPU to bottom of league table

Sagolband United came from behind to squeeze out a thrilling 2-1 win over TRUGPU, Nambol in the ongoing 11th Manipur State league today at Khuman Lampak main stadium.
The win today helped Sagolband United climb to the seventh spot with ten points from ten matches while TRUGPU are now at the bottom with five points from ten matches.
TRUGPU looked solid at the start, working their way neatly ahead as their chance of moving out of the relegation zone was high if the result was in their favour today.
Sagolband United, who were also in danger of remaining in the relegation zone, left no stone unturned to win the match.
It was Th Ratan who gave TRUGPU an early lead as his long range attempt from near the halfway mark was on target past Sagolband's custodian in the 3rd minute.
The Sagolband outfits made feverish attempts to restore parity but could not breach the solid defensive line manned by TRUGPU defenders.
And the first half ended with the Nambol side taking a 1-0 lead.
The Sagolband players exhibited grit and skills to level the score in the second half.
They got rewarded for their efforts as Th Chingthangkhomba equalised in the 86th minute.
Lalramhluaha Hmar banged in a goal for Sagolband in the 89th minute and that eventually earned full points to the team thus keeping alive the hope of making it to the final top eight.
