UTA retain title of Governor's Cup Taekwondo tournament

Even though no gold medal could be added to its overnight tally on the final day today, Union Taekwondo Academy (UTA), Keishamthong maintained its stranglehold on the Governor's Cup Taekwondo Manipur tournament by wresting the overall team champions' title of the eighth edition.
Even though only two silver and a bronze medal could be added to the tally today, UTA finished on top at 19 gold, 18 silver and 18 bronze medals for a total of 400 championship point while SAI secured the runners-up position on 14 gold, six silver and seven bronze medals that fetched 217 points.
NSA finished the 18-unit competition in third place with a tally of 184 points from eight gold, three silver and 16 bronze medals.
closing ceremony of the tournament organised by All Manipur Taekwondo Association was held with Mayang Imphal AC MLA Dr Kh Ratan Singh and Association president Y Khemchand as the chief guest and functional president respectively while Moirang AC MLA M Prithviraj Singh and Lilong AC MLA Md Abdul Nasir graced the occasion as the guests of honour.
The competition was held at Khuman Lampak Indoor stadium since april 2 .
