IRB personnel suspended over drug deal

Imphal, April 04 2012:
The eight IRB personnel, who were apprehended by personnel of 42-AR stationed at Bongyang on April 2 for carrying a huge quantity of Ephedrine tablets, have been suspended from their respective service today.
According to police reports, after further interrogation, another 9,60,000 Polyfed tablets and 9,94,500 Respited tablets were also recovered from their possessions.
The eight personnel of 3rd IRB who have been suspended are identified as Subedar Md Jahiruddin (54) s/o late Chaoba of Lilong Heinoumakhong; Rifleman (132001513) T Dhanabir (31) s/o T Ranjit of Pallel; Rifleman (132001555) S Voi (33) s/o late Seipu of Karong, Senapti; Rifleman (132001561) Ksh Prafullo (31) s/o Ksh Chandramani of Kakching; Rifleman (131088) A Rameshwar (23) s/o A Bira of Thoubal; Rifleman (012006214) N Romajit (30) s/o N Mohori of Kakching; Rifleman (1000179) E Devananda (33) s/o late E Manao of Hiyanglam and Rifleman (1311838) Th Tiken (25) s/o TH Shyam of Serou of Thoubal district.
The eight IRB personnel were apprehended at Bongyang when they were coming along with the huge quanity of Ephedrine tablets in full uniform along with their allotted service rifles in a bus (MN013/1550).After being arrested, they were handed over to the Tengnoupal Police Station late yesterday evening along with the seized Ephedrine tablets and allotted arms.
An FIR has been lodged against the eight IRB personnel and further interrogation is on.
