Imphal, April 04 2012:
In denunciation of the March 22 gangrape of a mother of four of Nungleiband village at Keinou area by four persons, including State security force personnel, the JAC formed in connection with the incident, would organise sit-in demonstrations at different places from april 6 onward.
speaking to newspersons at the Kakhulong office of Zeliangrong Union this afternoon, JAC convenor Kakomlunglu Kamei said as the memorandum submitted to the State Chief Minister and Home Minister for befitting punishment to perpetrators of the inhumane act has failed to evoke positive response the JAC would be launching democratic form of agitation starting with the mass sit-in-protest on April 6 .
Highlighting that the JAC in its memorandum handed to the State leaders on March 29 had set a deadline for five days to initiate relevant process for 'executing' the accused persons, the convenor said as the deadline had lapsed without any positive development, the decision to launch the agitation has been taken.
