Land records in state of all revenue circles to go hi-tech

Computerisation of land records of the remaining revenue circles in valley districts are expected to be completed soon so as to start the process for the hill districts as well.
According to sources in the state Revenue Department, there are altogether 33 revenue circles in the four valley districts of the state namely, Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal and Bishnupur.
In Imphal East there are 9 revenue circles, 10 in Imphal West, 8 in Thoubal and 6 revenue circles in Bishnupur district.
Sources further revealed that the computerization of the four valley districts was taken under a Centrally Sponsored Scheme in the year 2006-07, at an estimated cost of Rs 35 lakhs.
Out of the 33 revenue circles, the computerization process of 27 Revenue Circles has been successfully completed.
With completion of the computerization process for the remaining six Revenue Circles, similar process for the hill districts would have to be started.
In all there are 81 Revenue Circles in the 9 districts of Manipur.
Among this, 48 revenue circles are located in the hill districts.
This include 11 Revenue Circles in Senapati district, 10 in Tamenglong district, 9 in Ukhrul district, 12 in Churachandpur district and 6 in Chandel district.
