Chanura Microfin celebrates foundation day

The fifth foundation day of Chanura Microfin Manipur was obsered today at Lamyanba Shanglen.
Former Dean, School of Social Science, MU, Prof (Dr) Ksh Bimola Devi; Chairman of Chanura Microfin Manipur, Kh Yaiskul and former chairman of the forum, Th Ibochou as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, CEO of Chanura Microfin Manipur, PK Khuman said CMM has so far provided financial loan to 13,000 beneficiaries since its inception in 2007 .
It has also reached out to 567 localities spread across Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur and Thoubal districts, he said.
PK Khuman said the aim of Chanura Microfin Manipur is to solve the problem of poverty and to provide economic empowerment to women.
In order to achieve its objectives, the forum has been providing small loans, solar lamps, financial literacy programme apart from giving awarness to the people, he said.
Delivering her speech, Prof Ksh Bimola exhorted the gatherings to cultivate the habit of saving money.
She also said that the society would prosper when all concerned strived to earn money with right means.
As part of the programme, some members of the Chanura Microfin Manipur were honoured.
