MU Inter-dept cricket tourney

Department of Computer Science defeated host Physics Department by 12 runs to wrest the title of the inaugural Manipur University Inter Department Cricket Tournament, which concluded at the MU campus today.
Electing to bat first, DCS lost all its batsmen while scoring 57 runs in the 12-over game as Physics Department managed only 45 runs for six wickets to concede defeat.
The losing finalists, however, earned a consolation when its bowler Haobam Roshan was declared man of the match for his six-wicket haul.
Gracing the final match cum closing ceremony as the chief guest Commanding Officer of 28 Assam Rifles Col Sanjeev Kumar handed over prizes to the champions and runners-up teams.
The tournament, held since February 21, was participated by eight departmental teams of the university.
The host department conveyed thanks to Col Sanjeev for the AR unit providing the playing kits.
