Exhibition organised in Khasi Hills

The 29th District Level Industries and PMEGP Exhibition organised by the office of the General Manager, District Commerce and Industries Center, East Khasi Hills, Shillong kicked started on Thursday.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Exhibition at the premises of State Central Library Commissioner of Industries L Kharkongor welcomed the initiative taken by the Department in organizing such exhibition which aims at encouraging unemployed youth to establish and start up their own business.
Meanwhile, CEO of the DCIC N Suting spoke at length on the availability of natural resources in the state while calling upon the youth of the state to exploit these natural resources to boost their economic income as well as the state as a whole.
Highlighting on the availability of schemes with the Central Government Suting said the various schemes prevailing at the Department which is solely aimed at helping unemployed youth availed of such schemes for their benefit.
"The Department encourages the youth of the state especially those coming from rural areas to take the opportunities provided to them" Suting said adding that they should used the scheme properly and not to misuse it as it will benefit them in future.
"With the increase of unemployment youth in the state, there is a fear that they might consider themselves unemployable", adding that there is a need to eliminate this concept of unemployability from the minds of the people especially those residing in the rural areas.
He also said that people should avail various schemes of the central government through Khadi and village products During the programme three National Awardees were also felicitated by the office of the DCIC for their achievements in this field.
