KRYPSA edge out ESU 11-10 to clinch title

KRYPSA, Naoremthong clinched the title of the 10th Soraisham Ronika Memorial Junior Girls State Level Football Tournament after defeating ESU, Wangkhei today at Artificial Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak, Imphal.
In today's final, KRYPSA, Naoremthong edged out ESU, Wangkhei by a margin of 11 goals to 10 via sudden death after both sides were tied at 2-2 during regulation time.
KRYPSA's N Ratanbala and S Sunita scored a goal each in the 6th and 23rd minute respectively.
On the other hand, Lalam Haokip and T Ranjita secured a goal each in the 9th and 58th minute respectively for ESU to make the scoreline 2-2 at the end of normal time.
In the penalty shoot-out, KRYPSA's N Ratanbala, W Ranjibala, S Ranjana, S Sunita and Y Hemolata found their targets.

Lalam Haokip, Ng Sweety, T Ranjita, K Tony and Kashmina scored for ESU.
After both teams were tied 7-7 in the penalty shootout, sudden death was brought into the match to decide the winner.
In the sudden death, KRYPSA's M Thahenbi, RK Janakibala, K Pinky Chanu and Lhieneikim Kipgen scored while W Linthoingambi failed to beat the ESU goalkeeper.
On the other hand, ESU's Haobam Mery and Th Purnima failed to find thier targets while Rebika Oinam, Th Janda, Oinam Sanatombi managed to score.
Team champion KRYPSA were awarded a cash prize of Rs 15,000 along with a trohpy.
Runners' up ESU received a cash prize of Rs 10,000 along with a trophy while the fair play trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 3000 were awarded to AMMA, Andro.
Lalam Haokip (ESU), H Sunita (KRYPSA), Ng Sweety (ESU) and M Linthoingambi (KRYPSA) were announced the best striker, best mid-fielder, best defender and best goal keeper of the tournament respectively.
The players were awarded a cash prize of Rs 2000 each.
The closing ceremony was graced by Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Lokeshwar, AMFA president P Raghumani, AMFA general secretary L Ranjit Roy and Imphal West DTP M Mani Singh as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
