One day seminar on comparative language held

The Department of Hindi, Manipur University organized a UGC sponsored "One Day National Seminar on Comparative Language and Literature" on Monday at the Gallery Hall of the Department.
The seminar graced by Prof M Mani Meitei, Dean, School of Humanities, MU as the Chief Guest; Prof H Subadani Devi, Head, Department of Hindi, MU as the President; Dr Devendra Shukla, Professor & Head, Central Institute of Hindi, HRD Ministry and Prof S K Sharma, Head, Department of Hindi, Mizoram University as the Guests of Honour.
Speaking at the seminar, Prof Mani Meitei stressed on the importance of 'Comparative Language and Literature' for unification of Science and Literature and the need for establishment of a separate department for Comparative Language and Literature in Manipur University.
Twenty four resource persons presented their papers in three technical sessions covering three distinct aspects namely, 'Comparative Literature', 'Comparative Folk Literature' and 'Comparative Language'.
More than 60 participants took part in the seminar.
