Among the 3,123 pilgrims who will leave the city tomorrow for Mecca, 250 pilgrims belong to Manipur while 2,809 belong to Assam, 62 to Meghalaya and one each to Nagaland and Mizoram.
The 3,123 pilgrims of the NE region are gathering at the Haji Musafir Khana of Assam for flying to Mecca.
Assam Government's annual allocation for the Haj pilgrims would be raised to Rs 40 lakh from the existing Rs 25 lakh, according to Cheif Minister, Tarun Gogoi who addressed a meeting at the Haji Musafir Khana here this evening to bid farewell to the NE Haj pilgrims.
