The 86th Bn of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has distributed modern musical instruments and sewing machines to needy villagers of Tupul and Longmei villages in Tamenglong district under Civic Action Programme today.
The occasion was graced by MS Raghva, DIGP (Ops), CRPF Imphal; Narendra Kumar, Commandant, O/o DIGP, Imphal; and SL Sen Gupta, Commandant of the 86th Bn, CRPF as the chief guest and guests of honour respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, MS Raghva said the biggest problem Manipur faced is insurgency problem.
He observed that around 18 to 20 thousands of the youths of the state have been misled and convinced to hold guns.
He said the menace caused by insurgency can be solved when the people of the state sincerely work together.
He further noted that Mizoram develops rapidly as the land is free from insurgency-related problem.
MS Raghva observed that there are many children who are yet to see computers with their eyes in this 'computer age.' He also assured to give computer sets to Tupul villagers in the next civic action programme.
The CRPF has given four sewing machines to Tupul Youth Club, one embroidery machine, one organ keyboard, one electric guitar, one electric drum, one microphone, two 300-watts loudspeakers, one mic stand, and one set of tabla.
The Longmei Youth Club was also handed four sewing machines and one embroidery machine.
