Imphal, November 23 2015:
The Manipur Home Guard Employees' Welfare Association has urged the Chief Minister and Dy CM to enhance duty allowances of Home Guard personnel of Manipur.
The Association has submitted a memorandum in this regard to the CM and Dy CM today.
The MHGEWA pointed out that the Home Guard organisation becomes a full-fledged civil police organisation and their services are no more voluntary.
It also highlighted the Supreme Court's judgement and order dated March 11, 2015 which directed the State Govts to pay the duty allowance of the Home Guards equivalent to the minimum of the pay the police personnel of the State are entitled.
