Imphal, November 23 2015:
Like many other LPG distributors of the State, Iboyaima Tadubi Gas Agency has issued 20 domestic subsidized refills to one consumer, 14 such refills to another consumer, 13 each to two consumers, 12 each to 154 consumers, 11 each to 56 consumers, 10 each to 77 consumers and nine each to 109 within the current financial year.
The distributor has around 6930 active consumers.
Out of them, 3281 are DBTL consumers.
It is just around 400 DBTL consumers who have been issued 20, 14, 13, 12, 10 and nine refills each.
Although L Veijokho Vemai (consumer no CX9652944) has been issued 20 refills, no subsidy amount has entered his bank account yet.
Nonetheless, full subsidy amount of Rs 3699.04 has been transferred to the bank account of Loli Kapea (consumer no 0330) who has been issued 14 refills.
The two consumers who have been given 13 refills each are W Omega (consumer no CX9653629) and Obed Maki (consumer number CX9681092).Corresponding subsidy amounts of Rs 3710.24 and Rs 3693.44 have also been transferred to their respective bank accounts.
It remains a big question how the distributor managed to issue 12 refills each to 154 consumers, 11 refills each to 56 consumers, 10 refills each to 77 consumers and nine refills each to 109 consumers.
It also demands thorough examination why the subsidy amounts have not been transferred to the banks accounts of three/four consumers who are among the 154 consumers who have been 12 refills each.
The total number of refills issued by Iboyaima Tadubi Gas Agency to its 400 privileged/lucky consumers is higher than the number of refills distributed by LPG distributors which have more than 18,000 consumers within the current financial year.
This again evokes a serious question on the State's LPG distribution system.
