Imphal, July 26:
A total number of 233 protestors mostly women, who sustained injuries in police action during the course of the mass movement against the brutal killing of Thangjam Manorama by 17 Assam Rifles personnel in their custody have been treated at RIMS and JN Hospitals.
Most of the injured persons are from Greater Imphal area.
Till today, 115 persons have been brought to RIMS Hospital for treatment, according to Helpline, RIMS which is providing medicines and other necessary medical items to the victims.
Of the total 155 persons, five members of MAFYF, who attempted to self immolate at the gate of Chief Minister�s bungalow on Saturday are undergoing treatment, while the rest have been discharged after administering necessary medication.
At JN Hospital, in all 108 injured persons have been brought for treatment.
Four of them, who sustained severe rubber bullet injuries are presently under medication, informed a spokesman of the Emergency Relief Committee being opened at the hospital.
