The Governor, Chief Minister, different political parties and civil society organisations have extended greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of Id-ul-Fitre.
In his message, Governor Gurbachan Jagat said, "A society, where there is no differentiation of caste, creed and religion can bring about an atmosphere of peaceful co-existence.
Celebration of Id-ul-Fitre helps to propagate the message of peace, brotherhood and friendship, which are the prerequisite factors of peaceful co-existence in human society.
So when we celebrate this holy festival, all of us should strengthen our resolve to preserve and promote tolerance and peace and live in harmony".
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh while extending wishes said, "May the noble ideals of Id-ul-Fitre unite us all in the spirit of universal brotherhood of all humanity and inspire us to work towards building a harmonious and peaceful society free from poverty, suffering and hunger".
CPI Manipur State Council, MPCC (I), Kshetrigao BCC (I), Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress, Muslim Students' Union of Manipur and United People's Front (UPF) Manipur have also greeted the people of the State, especially Muslim people on the occasion .
