..Skeletons tumble out during renovations

With September 15 set as the deadline to complete the renovation of the Manipur Emporium in Delhi, workers / labourers are hard pressed to meet the deadline.
Meanwhile, loss of income due to closure of the emporium, an impatient outlet sales persons of the State Emporium managed to get a corner even while the construction is going on, all along displaying a discount sales at the front indicating business as usual.
Labourers told this correspondent that this is creating disturbances and hindrances to the ongoing repair and renovation work.
On further inquiring about the emporium, The Sangai Express learnt that , entrepreneur such as Suman Enterprises, Raw Silk, Lotus Arts , were sharing the State Emporium space under lease.
Reportedly, employees from the State posted at the emporium were unhappy over the presence of these said enterprises, which have diluted the identity of Manipur.

It has also been learnt that more than half of the product on sale in the emporium comprise of items which have nothing to do with Manipur.
Moreover, sales persons are apprehensive that this will also hamper their sales during the Common Wealth games.
Principal Secretary of Commerce and Industry, Nabakishore said over the phone that the lease given to the stated enterprises is effective till November under the Department of Handloom and Handicraft.
Sources at the Manipur Information Centre informedthat during the Games 'Incredible India Festival' will be held here at Baba Kharak Singh Marg where all state emporium are located.
