Greetings and good wishes to the people of the state, especially to the Muslims including Governor Gurbachand Jagat and Chief Minister Okram Ibobi were poured in on the eve of Id-ul-Fitr (Ramzan).
A society, where there is no differentiation of caste, creed and religion can bring an atmosphere of peaceful co-existence, said the Governor in his message to the people, especially to Muslim brethren on the occasion hoping that the celebration of the Id-ul-Fitr will help propagate the message of peaceful, brotherhood and friendship, which are the prerequisite factors for peaceful co-existence in human society.
Chief Minister, O Ibobi, while extending his greetings on the occasion, said that the fasting that was observed during the holy month of Ramzaan reaffirmed the spirit of charity and generosity and highlighted the feeling of empathy for the poor and the deprived.
Political parties like the BJP, Manipur Pradesh and Manipur People's Party alsoextended their greetings and good wishes on the eve of the occasion expressing hopes that with the celebration of the Id-ul-Fitr, will help in restoring peace in the trouble torn state of Manipur.
Social organizations like the United People's Front, Manipur (UPF), the National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO), Development Organisation, Andro Kendra of Imphal East District, Pangal Students' Organisation, Manipur, etc.
also greeted the people, particularly the Muslims on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under the aegis of IGAR(S) has organized Ramazan get together and Iftar to all its local populace in the AOR (Area of Responsibility).
