Imphal, September 09, 2010:
Like the three cadres who surrendered to the IG AR (S) on August 6, the other three PLA cadres who laid down arms on the next day were retired cadres who fled away from the party.
Private Langamba (real name Huidrom Awangamba, 20) s/o H Khomei of Sugnu Awang Leikai, Lance Corporal Lamyanba (Haobijam Gyaneshor, 20) s/o H Prem of Sugnu Napat Mayai Lambi and Private Meino (Laishram Priyobarta) of Chairel Khongnang Leikai laid down arms before IG AR (S) CA Krishnan and DGP Y Joykumar.
However, a press release issued by RPF's department of publicity GM Changjou stated that Awangamba was declared a deserter by a party order issued on August 4, 2009. Gyaneshor was declared a deserter by an order issued on August 5, 2010 whereas Priyobarta was declared a deserter way back on August 20, 2005. None of them took away bny arms or ammunition when they fled from their camps.
The outfit's department of publicity has been compelled to flip its past 'official' records for public informtion in view of the series of surrender dramas being enacted by Assam Rifles and Manipur Police.
Assam Rifles and Manipur Police have been sending their secret agents to every locality who are luring parents of retired UG cadres, retired UG cadres as well as active UG cadres to produce their sons and make them take part in surrender dramas.
By willingly taking part insuch surrender dramas, those parents have been committing crime against the nation, the outfit alleged.
Only those who love their motherland more than their own lives can tread successfully on the path of the liberation movement.
That is why, the episode of Chinglensana being entrusted to Paona Brajaba shi by his own mother to lead his teenage son to the Khongjom War occupies one of the most glorious chapter in the history of Manipur, GM Changjou remarked.
Meanwhile, the RPF, in another press release issued by its Publicity Secretary T Leisemba, has greeted the Meitei Pangals and followers of Islam on the occasion of Id-Ul-Fitr.
The outfit prayed that the sacred festival may herald egalitarianism in the society where there is peace and cordiality, and where every one has equal share.
