People's lives have been hampered as the Electricity Department has stopped supplying electricity for more than 19 days today and the department is not sure when the current will be restored.
The supply went on 23 August 2010 and there was no electric current till filling of this news.
The most affected persons were students who were sent by their parents from remote villages to avail of a better education.
One student James (name changed) told our reporter 'I don't have money to buy kerosene oil or candles.
'Achama Shop' a shop in Haipou Jaduannang bazaar, Tamenglong was able to sell 10 dozen candles within one week, while in a Mayang shop candles were sold ten to twenty packaged a day.
Kerosene in the black market is being sold at Rs.75 per litre.
There has been no supply of SK oil under PDS since the of economic blockade on NH 39 and 53 by United Naga Council and ANSAM against the holding of ADC elections.
Some traders however have brought Kerosine from Nagaland to sell it at @ Rs 75 per litre.
Power shortage has also affected all mobile charging centres in Tamenglong Bazar.
In the absence of the EE, AE and SO of the Department there was no saying when the supply of electricity would begin.
