Custom and traditional day observed

Chingmeirong Khongnang Karak Assembly Road Meitei Layeng Imphal has organised 10th custom and traditional day 2013 (the 66th year since British gave independence to Manipur) at Gandhi Memorial Hall here today.
The occasion was graced by Ch Leipaklotpi Devi, Chairperson Manipur State Social Welfare Board; Kh Surnabala Devi, Adhyaksha Chairperson DRDA Thoubal; Sohem Haomei, Chairman District Autonomous Council Tamenglong; Thokchom Dilipkumar Singh, President Board of Director Imphal Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd; Dr N Ibohal Meitei, President CTOC; Irom Lata Devi, Chairperson UMA Foundation; and L Mangisana, National and International Awardee, and Chief Advisor CTOC.Male and female singers sang patriotic and holy songs during the occasion, and awards were distributed to winners in various fields.
Speaking at the occasion, Ch Leipaklotpi Devi said that Patriots' Day was celebrated on August 13 yesterday Statewide commemorating those sacrified to bring independence of the State.
It is very important to observe the day when British retreat from the soil of Manipur as such observance awaken all of us.
