Imphal, July 19:
Following the incessant rain during the last many days, some of the major rivers are running above the warning level.
IFCD officials manning the Flood Control Room said that the water level of Imphal River is running four inches above the warning level while Nambul River has crossed the level by three feet.
Thoubal and Nambol rivers are however running two meters below the warning level, they said.
If rain continues in the catchment areas, then Nambul may over flow by 10 am tomorrow, they predicted.
So far there have been no reports of any river banks caving in, they said adding that the Department has taken up necessary precautions.
