Imphal, July 19:
Taking up stringent action against businessmen trying the fleece the public by hiking prices of essential commodities by taking advantage of prevailing situation in the State, volunteers of All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), Lamangdong Committee have pulled up 12 shopkeepers from Bishnupur district who were caught selling goods at exorbitant prices.
These shopkeepers have also been forbidden from running their shops for one complete month.
The students' body has also announced its decision of closing down all the educational institutions in the district indefinitely in protest against killing of Th Manorama by Assam Rifles personnel in their custody.
