Imphal, July 19:
Strongly condemning the killing of Thangjam Manorama Devi after arrest by 17 Assam Rifles in the strongest term, the Anti-Imperialist Camp, Vienna and its affiliated organizations throughout the world have extended support to the popular protest movement climaxing in a general strike - which not only demanded justice and the punishment of the perpetrators in this specific case but the revocation of all black laws from Manipur.
In a statement, Willi Langthaler, political committee of the Camp, defended the right to self-determination as an elementary democratic and human rights.
It said that the decision on the fate of Manipur and the North Eastern States of the Indian union must rest exclusively on the people there.
Therefore the struggle against the interference and intervention of both the Indian State and imperialism is not only legitimate but must be supported by the anti-imperialist movement of the world.
