The road connecting Tamenglong and Tamei has been completely cut off following numerous heavy landslides between Kabonram and Lamlaba, according to reports received by NNN.
The reports said that the condition of the road was in a pathetic shape.
The District official especially the Deputy Commissioner of the district was supposed to visit Tamei Hqs but owing to the prevailing problems the officer could not do so, according to reports.
It also said that the road between Tamei and Kangpokpi is still inaccessible as 'here had been heavy landslide just 2 kms away from Tamei.
Seven rice laden trucks destined for Tamei, which had left Imphal on July 9, still remain stranded somewhere along the road, said the reports adding that the inter-villages roads of Tamei Sub-Division viz, Konphung road with 36 landslides remain unclear, Tamei-Kuilong road also remain the same.
Adding woes to the miseries the bull dozer and JCB cutting the new road at Tamei-Kuilong road has been embedded by landslide.
All the essential commodities have run out of stock at Tamei Head Quarters and the people of the Sub-Division are facing innumerable problems, the reports.
Moreover the students after their vacation could not attend their schools/colleges and the Government employees of Tamei Sub-Division could not accede to their District Head Quarter Tamenglong for 'Internal revision of electoral rolls 2005" due to heavy landslides, added the reports.
Meanwhile, a Nepali labour named Mohan Singh Gurung, age 33 from Nunpani village Senapati District who had expired on Jul 17 could not be transported to his village for cremation.
So the locals of Tamei buried the dead body braving the ill-weather, said the reports.
